The space is called 'Plan Tij'. A unique location where the tide, nature and people come together at the edge of the City. An environment to relax, watch animal life and enjoy watersports.
At the beginning of this century the polder was "returned to nature". Ebb and flow again have free rein and largely determine the perception of the living environment. It is precisely this tidal movement that characterizes the atmosphere in this area.
The Parc
Adjacent to Plan Tij is the "Wantij Park".
The park is designed in the English landscape style. You will recognise this landscape style by the natural design with winding paths, natural shapes of ponds and alternation between forest and grass.
The Biesbosch
Plan Tij resembles the landscape of the nearby National Parc The Biesbosch. Reed lands, pilot-like wood stands, thickets and swamp forests alternate with large expanses of water and dominate the image.
The North Wales television company produced documentary 'Llanw' (Tide), illustrating human interest and showing how the tide affects people worldwide. Plan Tij is one of the items.
'Llanw' was honoured with the Silver Dragon Award at the prestigious China International Congress of Science and Education Producers in Beijing
